Welcome to the website of the 77th Glasgow (Disabled) Scout Group. This website has been designed to keep current members, visitors, parents and supporters up to date on our latest activities and achievements. Check out our latest news section or find out about the individual sections which make up the Scout Group.
The 77th Scout Group provides adventure and personal development for boys aged 8 to 25 with physical disabilities and life limiting conditions. We have a Cub Pack, Scout Troop, Explorer Unit and Scout Network, all of which meet on Monday evenings in the south side of Glasgow. We have no set ‘catchment’ area – in fact, the only geographical restriction is the time it takes to get to us!
Please take a few moments to look through our site, and drop us an email if you want to get in touch with us!
Our Scout Troop went off on their Spring Weekend camp recently and this is what they wrote about it…
We got lost coming to camp, writes Jack, then forgot to get the sausage rolls. Still, lovely breakfast on Saturday, before Max showed us how to make power with water wheels. We then visited Sumerlee – the Museum of Industrial Life, where we got to go on a German electric tram, das ist zehr gut.
We also made hovercraft and found out that ‘friction is fun’ and that engineering is all around us. Ross cooked us dinner and after we played cricket and had a campfire before we went to bed. Sunday was shooting, Harry got 15 points, and after tuck shop we held an outside birthday party for Max and David. The sun shone all weekend, what a blast.
