Explorers
Explorer Scouts is the section in our Group for boys aged approximately 14 to 18. Explorers take part in a wide range of activities both in the Scout Hall on a Monday evening and outdoors at weekend camps and other activity days. The programme is all about learning new skills, getting into the outdoors and developing skills around independent living.
Past activities have included a hike around Loch Katrine, our own Up Helly Aa festival, DIY and mechanics night, conservation cooking and many badge sessions covering first aid, knotting, fire lighting, cooking and much more.
Most Explorers join the Unit via the Scout Troop when they turn 14, however people can enter the Unit directly. At the moment however the Unit is full to capacity – please get in touch with us however if you are interested.

The Explorer Scout Unit is run by Iain Oates who is assisted by Arnold, Gordon, Robin and Euan along with a large team of helpers from local Scout Groups.
