The Scout Troop is the second section in our Scout Group, catering for boys aged 10 - 14 (approximately). Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes - as well as having FUN!

The 77th Scout Troop currently has around 20 physically disabled boys who take part in a normal Scout Programme on Monday nights.

What do Scouts do?Campfire

The Scout Section has a wide range of activities on offer, including:

Being outdoors is important and half the programme is given over to taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills such as camping, survival skills and cooking and also to a wide range of adventurous activities - anything from grass sledging to canoeing and sailing.

However, the Scout programme is tailored to the specific needs of each individual and all activities are carefully thought out and planned beforehand to ensure a high level of both safety and participation.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.
