James Lawrie Shield
The James Lawrie Shield was inaugurated in 2008 as a camping competition for boys from the 77th participating in summer camp. It was named in honour of a former Scouter, James Lawrie, who tragically lost his life in a hill walking accident aged just 24.
The Shield is awarded to the Patrol which demonstrates the most amount of effort and technical knowledge in four or five given fields. These could include compass work, map reading, fire craft, tent pitching, pioneering, knotting, shelter building and others from time to time.
The winners of the Shield so far are:

2009 | Apache Patrol |
| 2010 | Voyager Patrol Patrol Leader - Ben Miller Summer Camp: Crook of Devon, Kinross-shire |
