77TH CARRIES THE COMMONWEALTH BATON

queens-baton-blueThe 77th has had it’s hands on the Queen’s Baton over the past few weeks!

Two of our Scouts – Jack Twist and Reegan Stevenson, one of our volunteers, Ryan Hughes and one of our former Network Scouts, Chris Moss, have had the honour of carrying the Queen’s Baton as part of the tour ahead of the Commonwealth Games starting in Glasgow on Wednesday, 23rd July.

All four carried the torch in their home towns, and took part in a relay that has taken in 70 countries and travelled over 190,000km over the past 288 days.

You can find out more about the relay – which comes to an end tomorrow (Wednesday) on the special Glasgow 2014 website. The baton will be handed to the Queen at the opening ceremony where she will read a special message which has been contained within it for the last 288 days!
