We were delighted that our young volunteers were finalists in the Young Scot Awards last night!
From hundreds of nominees our young volunteers aged between 14 and 18 were finalists in the volunteering category. They attended a dinner in the SEC followed by the awards ceremony itself in the Clyde Auditorium hosted by comedian Iain Stirling. The event rounds off the Year of Young People when Scotland has celebrated the contributions of young people to our country.
We got to meet the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon too and made her a 77th Scout for the night!
Although we didn’t win in the category overall it is a huge achievement to get to the final stage, and important recognition of the work out 50 plus group of young volunteers do every week supporting young people with disabilities.
Well done to all of the team, and in particular to Matthew, Andrew, Gabriel, James and Ewan for representing everyone at the awards ceremony last night!
