At a special event in the Glasgow Science Centre we launched our fundraising appeal to develop Glengoyne Lodge – our centre for adventurous short breaks for children with disabilities.
We are aiming to raise £250,000 through fundraising and donations to allow us to bring Glengoyne Lodge to a standard which meets the needs of the over 80 young people who use it for weekend camps throughout the year.
The lodge is a focus for our adventures but it is rapidly becoming unfit for purpose which means it no longer meets the more complex care needs of the young people we support. Rather than starting again from scratch, we have designed a cost-effective enlargement and redevelopment of what we already have, in order to make the most of all funds we raise.
To deliver the redesign of Glengoyne Lodge, we require £250,000 – 25% of which has already been raised through fundraising in 2019.
The refit is vital for the future of our activities and short breaks with young people and we hope people will dig deep and donate to help make it fit for the future!
