We are delighted to announce that The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust has awarded us a grant towards our redevelopment of Glengoyne Lodge.
The £30,000 grant contributes towards our plans to redevelop Glengoyne Lodge into a centre of excellence for inclusive adventure. You can read more about the plans here.
This grant particularly focuses on children and young people with neurological conditions, and important focus for the Trust. Through this project more disabled young people with can benefit from the facilities at Glengoyne Lodge and through weekend short breaks build confidence, skills and gain independence, while having their care needs met in a fully accessible building.
We will also be able to use this grant to expand the organisations which can use the facilities at Glengoyne Lodge so that other charities supporting children and young people with disabilities can also deliver adventurous activities.
Our Chair, Elaine Ferguson said:
“We are extremely grateful to the RS Macdonald Charitable Trust for supporting our project with this substantial grant.
“With this grant we will be able to expand our activities to reach more young people and in particular those with neurological conditions who are often excluded from adventurous activities like this because of a lack of appropriate facilities.”
The grant from the RS Macdonald Charitable Trust takes the total raised so far in the redevelopment appeal to £212,000 – 85% of our target.
The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust awards around £2.5m to charities in Scotland every year. Find out more about the Trust on their website – https://www.rsmacdonald.com/.
