Virtual tour of Scotland raises £31,485 for Glengoyne Lodge Appeal

More than a hundred people have been walking, running, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding – just about any form of exercise – all the way across a virtual route through Scotland. Together they have clocked up an incredible 19,144km as they visit some of our favourite summer camp locations of recent years.

The challenge has been part of our fundraising appeal to raise money to make our outdoor centre, Glengoyne Lodge, fully accessible for all young people.

Yesterday participants crossed the virtual finish line at Meggernie Scout Camp in Glen Lyon, having individually travelled almost 300km throughout the month of July.

Along the way they have been fundraising and we can reveal today the total raised by the challenge is £31,485 – a phenomenal response from more than a thousand individual donors. This gets us within touching distance of our overall total and allows us to push forward with the plans for the Lodge.

A huge thanks from all of us to all those who participated, donated and supported the challenge in any way.

Enjoyed getting out and about for the whole month regardless of the weather.
It was great to see my son interested in not only outdoor pursuit but learning to count as we clocked up the kilometres.
