We’ve been making great progress on the redevelopment of our outdoor centre, Glengoyne Lodge over the past few months.
The scaffolding is down, windows are in, walls are going up and it is starting to look like somewhere we can have some really great adventures in!
The next phase is the final stage of this project and involves putting the finishing touches to the building and making it as user friendly and accessible as possible.
We are still fundraising to meet the final costs of the building and need your support to make sure we can re-open in the summer and start offering short breaks for young people with disabilities once again.
First up we want to show you our designs for the kitchen:
We have designed this with accessibility in mind – young people who use a wheelchair will be able to get under the sink and cooker so they can participate in cooking activities – a key part of our programme at camp which helps foster independence in young people.
The budget for the kitchen is £5,000 plus installation costs and we are looking for a donor who might be able to support us with this part of the project. Please get in touch with us if you might be able to assist or if you know anyone who could potentially sponsor this for us.
Although the project is moving forward we need continued support to finish it so please spread the word as far as possible!
