Explorer Scouts is for young people aged 14 to 18.

Explorers take part in a wide range of activities both in the Scout Hall on a Monday evening and outdoors at weekend camps and other activity days. The programme is all about learning new skills, getting into the outdoors and developing skills around independent living.

Past activities have included a hike around Loch Katrine, our own Up Helly Aa festival, DIY and mechanics night, conservation cooking and many badge sessions covering first aid, knotting, fire lighting, cooking and much more.

Most Explorers join the Unit via the Scout Troop when they turn 14, however young people can enter the Unit directly – click here to find out how you could join.

Explorers are led by Kultaran Aulak with support from Kevin Alexander. There is a team of volunteers who provide one to one support for all the young people.
