Adult Volunteer Training

Information for volunteers and links to complete online training modules

Thank you for volunteering to support young people so they can fully participate in Scouting. We couldn’t do it without you.

We take our role working with young people seriously, and part of that is ensuring all our adult volunteers are fully trained and able to demonstrate a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant to your role in Scouting.

Your Training Adviser will guide you through this process. This page is simply a library of links to complete the various online training modules that are available and forms to upload evidence that you have completed the training.

If you have any questions about this process please contact your Training Adviser directly or contact Michael Shanks (Group Scout Leader) – michael@glasgowdisabledscouts.org.

Module 1 – Essential Information

This Module is relevant for all appointments other than Trustees. This module provides the basic information that all adults in Scouting need to know. It briefly covers the Fundamentals of Scouting, the key policies of The Scout Association and the support available to adults in Scouting.

You can complete this module by attending a course (details from your Training Adviser) or online via an e-learning module. This will work on a variety of devices and you will be asked to enter your name when you begin, which will produce a certificate at the end upon completion. It is important you save this certificate or screenshot it so you can upload it as evidence you have completed the training.
